The Sixers that aren’t Suxors

The above is a reference to Ernest Cline’s “Ready Player One,” in which the villainous henchmen all have 6-digit ID numbers that start with 6. I’ve referenced that book a couple times recently; I’m almost through with it! What should I read next?

Of course, I would never dedicate a blog post to game griefers; rather, today I tip my blogger’s hat to Adrian Hon and his cohort at Six to Start. Despite the Google Reader-flummoxing name, Six to Start is the creator of some immensely cool games and the source to which I attribute my very favorite webinar (or you could just say 40 minute video chat) about ARGs, which I devoured, applauded - and accidentally posted to the wrong blog. I hope you take some time to watch it, it’s right on the money!

Their newest crowd-funded project captures two fads: fascination with zombies and games for good, specifically fitness games. This British games collective asks the question: Who wouldn’t run faster if you were eluding the brain-hungry undead?

Learn more about this game on the Six to Start web site and then check out this video interview with the creators. You may be tempted to strap on your running shoes and start fleeing! If you are, sign up for the game here!
