Kentucky Derby upset →
Horse racing is a sport more than a game, but click on the link above to watch the video of a wonderful upset (which I learned about from This American Life). Everyone loves a come-from-behind victory, and this is a literal example- and I’m using the word literal literally! Check it out and marvel. Just goes to show: it ain’t over til it’s over.
Powerpoint Karaoke
As a game master, I suppose it is incumbent upon me to demonstrate good sportsmanship as a role model to others. And it is in that spirit that I offer congratulations to Steven Krumholz, winners of Imation’s PowerPoints Karaoke contest. Here is the press release detailing his glorious victory.
But inside I gotta say: come ON. This was no contest! It just goes to show I need to resolve...

“Hi my name is [name withheld], I’m an associate producer with a show on KGLA called ‘Culinary...

Worker satisfaction FAIL
Wow, this is just sad. According to a poll of 5000 workers conducted by The Conference Board, worker satisfaction nationwide is at a 22 year low.
55% of workers said they were unhappy in their current position
One-quarter of all workers said they expect to be at another job next year
Workers under 25 (the youngest cohort polled) have the lowest job satisfaction rate since they started polling...

All Hail the King!
Our friends at American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theater, who hosted our Haunted Hollywood game (remember that? Long, long ago in 2009, the previous decade?) have invited us back for another movie and game event!
This coming Sunday 10 January, we’ll be helping celebrate Elvis’s 75th birthday, even though he won’t be there (although, who knows? He shows up all kinds of...
